Read (or have someone read to you, if you are a pre-reader) as many books as you like and write them on a log sheet. Bring your log to the library and receive a ticket for a chance to win a prize. Also spin the prize wheel for a daily surprise. See below for all the ways to earn a prize ticket!
TWEEN/TEEN PROGRAM
For Grades 6 through 12

ADULTS PROGRAM
Sign up in person at the library and get a log sheet, or register online with Beanstack, or download the Beanstack Tracker App.
Fill out a slip for each book or magazine you read, or audiobook that you listen to. Drop the slip into one of 4 grand prize buckets for a chance to win at the end of the program (Aug. 11) You do not need to be present to win. Our adult prizes are: $50 Gift card to Bull Run, $50 to Barnes & Noble, $50 to local hardware store, or a Kindle Fire HD10 Tablet. Check out all the other ways to earn a ticket too!
WAYS TO EARN PRIZE TICKETS
Read and bring in your log sheet- books, magazines and audio books all count; Attend a library program; Borrow a museum pass (see list below); Hike a trail in Shirley; Keep a nature journal; Write a campfire ghost story; Read our story walk (July) Explore the Geocaching trail (July) Make a Lego project; Make a Fairy house (drop off Aug 1); Play Bruins Bingo, And more - we will be adding more challenges, so stay tuned!

All tickets for all programs must be entered by August 10 at 5:30 pm.
Prizes will be awarded at the program finale on August 11, and you do not need to be present to win, but you might want to come for the ice cream!
Read Beyond the Beaten Path * Summer Reading Program is funded locally by the Friends of the Hazen Memorial Library and the Shirley Cultural Council. Federal and Statewide funding is provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and supported by the Boston Bruins. The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) works with the Massachusetts Library System (MLS) to coordinate the statewide summer reading program.
