Virtual Presentation - DEMENTIA BEHAVIORS & NON-PHARMACOLOGICAL INTERVENTIONS

DEMENTIA BEHAVIORS &
NON-PHARMACOLOGICAL INTERVENTIONS

TUESDAY, JUNE 2
VIRTUAL PRESENTATION: 12 P.M.
1 Complimentary CE Hour for Social Workers

Join us for the second installment of our virtual CE session presented by Alicia Seaver, Vice President of Memory Care Operations and Certified Memory Impairment Specialist.
Dementia’s deteriorating effects on the brain cause neurotransmitter disturbances, neuronal damage and poor integrative function that often manifest in challenging behavioral changes.

Understanding how a person’s cognitive deficits affect their functional ability helps care providers choose appropriate non-pharmacological care approaches to calm, reassure and communicate with them. Upon completion of this course, participants will better understand:
  • How dementia can affect the brain, body, personality and behaviors
  • Goals of non-pharmacological therapies
  • Various types of non-pharmacological therapies
  • How to manage challenging behaviors with  non-pharmacological interventions

Join us for this live, complimentary continuing education course, which has been approved for 1 Social Work CE hour in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire.
